​Being able to help people through my business has, in a sense, allowed me to help myself.  After several decades of emotional and mental trials, paddling like mad to stay afloat and conform with the societal norm, I had lost my dharma - my purpose.  I was entrenched in routine.  I had worked with some of society’s most dangerous individuals, both in the UK and Australia, and was emotionally drained.

At that point, 12 years ago, my mind was clouded with thoughts of “is this it? Is this what life is supposed to be for me?”. I’d had enough. I began searching for guidance. 

​​

It was then I discovered Reiki, having been recommended the treatment by a friend.  The rest, as they say, is history. I set an intention prior to my treatment and asked for guidance on what to do with my life. I asked for help to find my purpose. 
 
Over the next few weeks, I realised what I wanted to do. I simply wanted to make people feel better - physically, emotionally and mentally (of course, all ‘3’ - the mind, body and soul - are intrinsically linked).  I wanted to help people to smile again from the inside.  I wanted to help them to find hope and positivity and regain sunshine in their hearts.  But how could I achieve this?
 
Having previously been what seemed to be a permanently injured runner – even in a wheelchair at one point - I valued the power of an amazingly performed massage.  I was more than aware of the effect massage had and how physical pain can impact mental well-being.  I wanted to help others, as I had been helped.  One day whilst sitting in the garden back in Brisbane, it came to me.  I felt drawn to become a Remedial Massage Therapist to help others to feel better about and within themselves.    I researched courses and timeframes and planned everything with military precision (as I do everything!).  My journey began.

​Following full time study for 18 months, I qualified as a Remedial Massage Therapist.  I gained my Diploma in Remedial Massage in Australia, which included performing over 200 hours of actual assessed treatment hours in sports, remedial, myofascial, deep tissue and trigger point therapy.  It is the highest massage qualification obtainable in Australia in the industry.

During this time in Australia and whilst studying to become an RMT, I also qualified as a Reiki Master in Usui Reiki.  This process took 2 years and took me through all levels.  This is not something I ordinarily offer in Clinic anymore, however I am more than happy to if you would like a Reiki treatment.  

​

​Upon return to the UK from Australia, I decided that setting up a new life, business, home and social life was not stressful enough and decided to take on further studies and empower my new found passion in manual lymphatic drainage (MLD). Lymphoedema and Lipoedema! 

 

Following extensive study and qualifications, I became an NHS Certified Decongestive Lymphatic Therapist (DLT) specialising in wraparound Lymphoedema and Lipoedema diagnosis, assessment and management.  This year (2026) I also qualified as a Lipoedema Specialist Therapist with the Lymphoedema Training Academy.  This gives me advanced qualifications in the assessment and management of Lipoedema.   I can also offer more intensive treatment including Clinical Manual Lymphatic Drainage and multicomponent lymphoedema bandaging or compression wraps. 

 

I am a current member of the British Lymphology Society (BLS), Lymphoedema Support Network (LSN) and a member of MLDuk.  I am trained in the Casley-Smith and FG-MLD methods of MLD.  Click on the LYMPHOEDEMA or LIPOEDEMA page to find out more about what to expect at Eden Valley Health and how I may be able to help you.
